Adopt a Family for Christmas

For families in our Shelter, transitional housing program, and for recent graduates of our housing programs, a traditional Christmas isn't doable. Families cannot afford the presents or the food for the holiday meal.

In years past, we invited members of the community (such as yourself) to adopt families.  We would give you the family's wish list, and you would buy the gifts and present them at our outdoor Holiday Block Party.  This year because of the pandemic, however, we cannot gather together outdoors, but we still offer the option of adopting a family.

When you adopt, you can either bring the gifts to the agency at 670 W. 9th St., San Pedro or deliver them in person to the family. If you adopt, please do either one by Friday, December 18, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. The gifts come from you wrapped and tagged for individual family members.

If you would like to adopt a family this year, please click the link to the right, complete the form, and we will contact you with the family's information. We will give you names, ages, clothing sizes, and a wish list.  We ask that you purchase at least one gift per family member.  You don't have to buy everything on the list.  Family requests will be distributed by Friday, November 20, 2020.

We usually have sixty to seventy families who need adoption. You (or your family or group) can adopt one or more families.
